Italy and the United Arab Emirates, together implementing the 2030 Agenda.
In 2015, the General Assembly of the United Nations approved a set of 17 objectives that every Country of the World is supposed to achieve by 2030, the so-called 2030 Agenda.
Seven years after this important milestone, and in the context of the Italian Festival for Sustainable Development, the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Italian Institute of Culture and Ansaldo Energia UAE, are organizing the event “Italy and the United Arab Emirates, together implementing the Agenda 2030”.
This century, with its compounding financial, health, climate and security challenges has shown that there is a strong need for a holistic approach to development. GDP growth is no longer a reliable indicator of the real conditions of national economies.
Sustainable development compels States and companies, to rethink policies and business models. It is a cultural revolution top shift economic models from linear to circular.
The objective of this event is to showcase national best practices to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals focusing on the role of culture and private sector. Representatives of institutions and companies from both countries will present what Italy and the UAE are doing to face this cultural revolution and what it is left to be done in the coming seven years. The exhibition of the work of the artist Paolo Nicolai which merges classical beauty with the urgency of recycling wasted materials will create the best milieu for the participants to be inspired to action.
